The US snowboard crosser Chythlook-Sifsof raises serious allegations against a coach and an athlete of the current US snowboard team at the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. She accuses them of sexual misconduct or racist statements via Instagram. Instagram has since blocked her posts.

According to media reports, the US Ski and Snowboard Association is investigating the possible misconduct of one of its coaches and one of its athletes. Both belong to the US snowboard cross team at the current Olympic Winter Games in China. The trainer is accused of many years of sexual misconduct, the athlete of the use of racist language. This is reported by the US news agency AP, among others.

Former American snowboard crosser Callan Chythlook-Sifsof wrote on Instagram that the trainer had taken nude photos of female athletes, among other things, and that the athlete had made racist comments several times. The 32-year-old said she couldn’t follow any more Olympics without making it public. Instagram subsequently blocked several posts by Chythlook-Sifsof.

When asked by the dpa, the American Ski and Snowboard Association said he had “been made aware of the latest allegations”. “We take these allegations very seriously and the allegations are being investigated,” it said. The association did not say who the investigations are aimed at and what exactly the background is.
