Poland’s prime minister calls for ‘deputinization’ of Russia – modeled on Nazi Germany — RT EN

As a bitter critic of Putin, Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has again warned of the danger posed to the world by Moscow. He again drew parallels between the Russian head of state and Adolf Hitler and accused him of ambitions to conquer the West.

Russian nationalism is a deadly threat to the world and the West must treat Moscow the same way Nazi Germany once did, wrote Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in one opinion post, which was published in the British newspaper Telegraph on Tuesday. Morawiecki, who had previously compared Russian President Vladimir Putin to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and Soviet dictator Josef Stalin on many occasions, went further this time by claiming that Russia’s head of state was “even more dangerous”.

The so-called “Russian world” is an imperialist ideology, “the equivalent of communism and Nazism of the 20th century,” with which Russia “justifies invented rights and privileges for its country,” the Polish politician stressed. He further described Russian nationalism as “a cancer that not only afflicts the majority of Russian society but also poses a deadly threat to all of Europe”. Morawiecki continued:

“Therefore, supporting Ukraine in its military struggle with Russia is not enough. We must completely eradicate this monstrous new ideology.”

In addition, the Polish Prime Minister accused Putin of historical revisionism, citing Warsaw’s long-standing position that the Third Reich and the Soviet Union were equally to blame for the outbreak of World War II. Morawiecki wrote:

“Not long ago, Poland waged an information war with Russia about the origins of World War II. We won, but Putin achieved his goal. He infected the internet with millions of fake news.”

Regarding the Ukraine war, Poland’s prime minister saw Western countries threatened by Moscow’s conquest ambitions, which had “embarked on a long march west”, and called on other countries to take steps to immediately “deputinize” Russia:

“Just as Germany was once denazified, ‘deputinization’ is the only chance for Russia and the civilized world today. If we don’t tackle this task immediately, we will not only lose Ukraine, but also our soul, our freedom and sovereignty .”
